HB 2048 modifies the Oregon Paint Product Stewardship law passed in 2009 (HB 3037). The bill makes the pilot program permanent, and make changes to improve the program for the benefit of consumers buying paint, the paint industry, Oregon’s environment, and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). The changes will provide clear standards, goals, and procedures for the permanent program.

Heard in the House Committee on Energy and Environment March 14 and 19 and amended April 11, passed the House on June 27, the Senate on July 1, signed into law by the Governor on July 29, 2013.
