Resolution

The United States Conference of Mayors, at their 2012 annual meeting, passed a resolution expressing support for state and federal EPR legislation for mattresses. Specifically, the resolution states that "the U.S.

The National Association of Counties adopted a resolution in 2008 supporting an Extended Producer Responsibility Framework Approach (PDF file, 11KB) and readopted it in 2009.  The resolution supports the creation of effective producer-lead reduction, reuse and recycling programs, to deal with a product’s lifecycle impacts from design through end of life management, without relying solely on state and local governments.
